Counselling plays a crucial role in supporting students through various challenges they may encounter during their academic journey. At SSM Polytechnic College, we understand the importance of addressing emotional and psychological concerns, which is why we have established a Counselling Cell dedicated to the well-being of our student community.
     Our Counselling Cell comprises a dedicated team of trained faculty members and a professional Counsellor who are committed to providing confidential and non-judgmental support to students in need.
     The primary objective of our Counselling Cell is to assist students in understanding and resolving a wide range of issues they may face, including personal, emotional, social, academic, interpersonal, and more. Through individual or group counselling sessions, our team aims to help students achieve their academic goals, foster social and personality development, pursue career aspirations, enhance empathy and interpersonal skills, and ultimately, lead a healthy lifestyle.
      Our Counsellors are equipped with the necessary expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat various challenges such as academic stress, anxiety, depression, social addictions, and other mental health concerns. They provide a safe space for students to express themselves, offering timely support and guidance to promote overall well-being.

The core objectives of our Counselling Cell include:

Mr. Fahid K V, Professor of English who is also a trained psychologist, serves as our dedicated counsellor. He is readily available on campus, and all students can schedule appointments with him by contacting his office. If additional counselling is deemed necessary, students may be referred to a hospital with which we have an established memorandum of understanding (MOU).
